My Room Rocks is very proud of our long-time employee Christine Farsi. Christine is a model for all young girls. If you are interested in having a Girl Scout event at My Room Rocks, we will try to have Christine help out at the party. It is great for young Girl Scouts to learn from the senior scouts of all the wonderful opportunities available to girls who make scouting a part of their lives.  The following is a press release about Christine’s accomplishments!  Christine we are so proud of you!

The Girl Scouts of Big Creek Service Unit in Alpharetta Georgia proudly celebrated their first Gold Award recipients in 13 years. Christine Farsi and Margaret Hruschka have been members of Troop 7978 for 13 years and both earned the highest award for girls in scouting, the Gold Award, this past February. Christine’s project focused on bringing awarness to two Atlanta area services and making craft kits to assist volunteers in entertaining the children at the centers. The Fostercare Support Foundation in Roswell and Action Ministries programs for children in Atlanta were familiar places to Christine and she made 16 boxes for each center, in addtion to supplying boxes of extra supplies. Margaret’s project also made it easier for people to help people. She gathered information of local places where young people are needed to help and then made a flyer that she sent out to area schools, churches and civic groups that could use the information. She organized a food drive for the Norcross Co-op ministry in addition to organizing a group of older and younger scouts working together to sort food and school supplies at the co-op. She also lead younger scouts in putting together moving- in baskets for Action Ministiries transitional housing residents.
